Sense of Pride

I just youtubed Alicia Keys' & Jay-Z's performance at game 2 for the World Series in New York... When I watched that performance.... I dont know what it was but a sense of pride just took over, making me tear up just a little. Echo & all. Its just one of those feel-good-deep-down-songs(whether you're reppin NY or not) & its a fantastic collabo between artists at the top of their game... & lol at the shocked uproar when Jigga told the crowd & Yankees alike "Catch me at the X with OG at a Yankee game / Shit, I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can" (@ 1:36-1:40).

Black pride much?? From Jackie Robinson being the first African-American to enter the MLB (1947) to African-Americans opening the game, we've been doing everything and anything from time & we will continue to rise.

  1. I too enjoyed watching the performance. For some reason I wasn't really sure what the crowd's response would be, initially, even with it being NYC and all, but as Alicia began to pump the chorus from her powerful vocals ... I felt the magic. As did Yankee Stadium.
